Man arrested during raid has lengthy record

Michael Konecny
Thursday, May 30, 2019

A man arrested last week during a drug raid on the home he shared with a woman and her two teenagers has a long history of drug-related arrests.

Michael Anthony Konecny, 31, remained at Clatsop County Jail this week after officers from four different agencies served a surprise search warrant of their home in the 500 block of Northwest Date Avenue.

Officers used a loud distraction device called a “flash-bang,” which could be heard throughout the neighborhood at 1:45 p.m. Thursday, May 16.

While final charges are pending, Konecny is being held for violating conditions of parole, which include maintaining registration as a sex offender and staying away from drugs and alcohol.

Melissa A. Roberts, 40, was booked at Clatsop County Jail for frequenting a place where drugs are used and possession of methamphetamine. Her two children, ages 13 and 16, were not present at the home when the raid was executed.

Konecny’s prior arrests include a case in February 2009 for giving alcohol and drugs to a minor, sodomy, sex abuse, menacing and contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor.

In May 2014, he was arrested on two counts each of delivery of heroin and methamphetamine.

In July 2017, he was arrested for reckless driving and drunken driving.

Later that same month, he was arrested on three counts each of delivery of heroin and methamphetamine, manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance and possession of meth and heroin.

In December 2018, he was arrested for heroin possession and driving while suspended.

He was successful in pleading down each prior case to a single offense.

Officers from Warrenton Police Department, Clatsop County Sheriff’s Office, county Parole and Probation and the Department of Human Services were involved in last week’s raid.

Warrenton police had received several complaints from neighbors about drug activities at the house, Chief Matt Workman said. “The warrant culminated a long and protracted investigation by all of the agencies.”

Warrenton Police K9 Gabe found heroin, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and cash during a search of the home.

The case is now in the hands of the Clatsop County District Attorney’s Office.
