Three Clatsop County residents attending Oregon State University have been initiated into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. The students are Amber McCanna of Warrenton, Shrida Sharma of Astoria, and Kristen Travers of Astoria. Phi Kappa Phi is the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership.

Four local students were named to the winter term dean’s list at Eastern Oregon University. Qualifying students must maintain a 3.5 or higher grade point average while completing a minimum of 12 hours of coursework. The students who earned this distinction are Abby Mathews, Noni Webster and Bethany Workman, all from Warrenton; and Danielle Williams of Cannon Beach.

Clayne Williams of Astoria was named to the Dean’s List at Eastern New Mexico University for spring semester 2019. To be eligible, a student must complete a minimum of 15 credit hours with a grade-point average of 3.25 or above.

U.S. Air Force National Guard Airman 1st Class Megan Tiller graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. Tiller earned distinction as an honor graduate. She is the wife of Bryan Tiller of Warrenton.
