Efforts to restore former ranch subject of tours

A series of walks and workshops are scheduled this weekend at Circle Creek Conservation Center near Seaside.

The center, a former 364-acre cattle ranch and dairy, is owned by the North Coast Land Conservancy, which is attempting to restore is to its natural state.

The “Summer of the Land” walks and workshops will explore the forest and flood plain at the conservation center, which is tucked between the Necanicum River and Tillamook Head. Walks, led by Stewardship Director Melissa Reich, are 2 ½ to 3 miles along mowed paths.

A concert by the North Coast Chamber Orchestra is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, June 15, in the barn at Circle Creek. Tickets are $15.
