Deputy to graduate from academy

A Clatsop County sheriff’s deputy is among the graduates of the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training’s basic police class.

The 16-week class covers survival skills, firearms, emergency vehicle operations, ethics, cultural diversity, problem solving, community policing, elder abuse, drug recognition, and more.

Deputy Eric Dotson will graduate from the basic police class July 12 in Salem.
