Drunken driving 12:30 p.m. March 20, Northwest Warrenton Drive at Seventh Street. Jens Simon Peel, 36, of Hammond was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of intoxicants and booked at Clatsop County Jail, where his blood-alcohol content was recorded at 0.22 percent.

Speeding, 11:52 p.m. March 24, Northwest Warrenton Drive at Seventh Street. Hiram Miller Johnson, 63, of Hammond was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of intoxicants and booked at Clatsop County Jail, where his blood-alcohol content was recorded at 0.12 percent.

Thefts and burglaries

Fraud, 8:40 a.m. March 18, Premarq Center. A Seaside woman told police she’d lost her credit card in early March and someone made an unauthorized purchase for $100 on the card.

Attempted theft of trailer, 10:25 a.m. March 19, 800 block East Harbor Drive. Someone attempted to pry the padlock off a 21-foot utility trailer and bent the mechanism.

Theft of speaker, 5:45 p.m. March 20, T-Mobile store. Two men walked in and one took a $100 JBL speaker and ran out of the store. Both left in a gold Acura sedan. License was traced to a home in Gearhart.

Auto theft, 11:27 p.m. March 22, Fred Meyer. A blue-gray 1988 Toyota pickup valued at $4,500 was stolen during an employee’s work shift.

Fraudulent check, 10:56 a.m. March 23, 1600 block East Harbor Drive. Customer cashed a $2,865 check that was fraudulent and then failed to repay the business.

Theft by fraud, 10:19 a.m. March 26, 0-100 block Harbor Court. A man said he contacted an online computer security company recommended by a friend. After clicking on a link for a rebate, the company took $10,000 from his business account.

Suspicious circumstances/disturbances

Domestic disturbance, 5:21 p.m. March 22, 500 block Pacific Drive. A couple who had been drinking got into an argument over the TV remote and the male physically restrained the female until she gave up the remote. Male half fled the residence before police arrived.

Criminal trespassing, 4 p.m. March 24, Rite Aid. Woman asleep and refusing to leave sitting in a chair in the store’s entrance. Misty Dawn Monsen, 44, of Astoria, who had previously been trespassed from the store, was arrested on suspicion of criminal trespassing and violation of parole and her release agreement.

Minors drinking alcohol, 7:31 p.m. March 24, Fort Stevens State Park. Three teenagers cited for minor in possession by consumption.

Disturbance with gun involved, 9:01 p.m. March 26, 100 block Southwest Birch Avenue. Mutual combat between at least two residents with parties separated.


Two-vehicle noninjury collision, 3:56 p.m. March 19, Highway 101 at Neptune Avenue.

Speeding, 7:50 p.m. March 20, West Marine Drive at First Street. Driver cited for going 40 in a 25 mph zone.

Vehicle damaged by someone attempting to siphon gas, 9:46 a.m. March 22, 800 block Fifth Avenue, Hammond.

Vehicle vs power pole, noninjury, 4:25 a.m. March 23, 900 block East Harbor Drive.

Vehicle rollover, noninjury, 4:43 a.m. March 23, 400 block North Main Avenue.

Two-vehicle noninjury collision, 7:54 a.m. March 23, South Main Avenue at 13 Street.

Speeding, 3:30 p.m. March 24, Ridge Road near KOA. Driver cited for going 67 in a 45 mph zone.

Traffic stop, 11:15 p.m. March 24, Highway 101 at Ensign Lane. Driver cited for having no valid operator’s license.

Traffic stop, 6:14 p.m. March 25, Lake and Pacific drives. Driver cited for driving while suspended.

Vehicle vs. dog, 10:39 p.m. March 26, 1000 block Northwest Warrenton Drive. Black lab with red collar lying in the middle of the road was struck by at least three vehicles.
