July 4 'parade' will get your engine revving

Thursday, June 25, 2020

A Clatsop County Freedom Ride is scheduled for July 4.

Since most – if not all – of the area’s Independence Day events have been cancelled, organizers are calling people to decorate their own street-legal vehicles for a patriotic drive through the county.

To participate, show up before 11:30 a.m. at the Clatsop County Fairgrounds, 92937 Walluski Loop, Astoria.

The route will pass Astoria High School, cross the Youngs Bay Bridge, and head down Harbor Drive to Main Avenue in Warrenton.

The parade passes through downtown Warrenton shortly after noon, then heads south on Highway 101 toward Seaside. At the Seaside Outlet Mall, the parade turns left and will end in the parking lot at North Coast Family Fellowship about 2 p.m.

The freedom ride is sponsored by North Coast Oregon United.
