Warrants

Clatsop County arrest warrant served, 12:15 p.m. June 14, Highway 101 at Ensign Lane. Scott Andrew Smotherman, 59, of Warranton was arrested for failing to appear in court on a driving under the influence of intoxicants charge.

Thefts/burglaries

Fraud, 2:27 p.m. June 13, 100 block Northwest Fourth Street. An 18-year-old woman reported paying $600 in iTunes gift cards for rent and deposits on a home in the 200 block of North Main Avenue. People living in the house were unaware the home had been listed online and the rental contract turned out to be fraudulent.

Stolen shopping cart, 5:40 p.m. June 13, Costco. A 35-year-old woman, with no known address, was stopped for taking a cart to use as a personal transportation device without permission. Cart was returned.

Shoplifting, 6:15 p.m. June 14, Walmart. Gus Allen Weirup, 38, of Astoria was given a criminal citation after attempting to leave the store without paying for a hover scooter, wireless backup cameras and toiletries.

Shoplifting, 4:24 p.m. June 16, Walmart. Jared Curtis Cupit, 43, of Warrenton was arrested on suspicion of second-degree theft after he passed a phone to an accomplice and walked out of the store with another mobile phone and other items without paying. T’Shuva R. Berman, 27, of Warrenton was arrested on suspicion of theft by receiving and third-degree theft.

Shoplifting, 4:23 p.m. June 17, Walmart. Heather Lyn Russell, 32, of Astoria was arrested on suspicion of second-degree theft, criminal mischief and possession of methamphetamine after she left the store without paying for $89 in clothes and other merchandise.

Shoplifting, 6 p.m. June 17, Walmart. Krysta N. Schluter, 20, of Hammond was given a criminal citation for second-degree theft after she left the store with $173 in clothes and other merchandise without paying.

Shoplifting, 7:37 p.m. June 17, Walmart. Cameron H. Fedorko, 25, of Astoria was given criminal citations for second-degree theft and third-degree criminal mischief after she allegedly walked out of the store without paying for a shop vacuum and other items.

Shoplifting, 2:36 p.m. June 18, Walmart. Richard Elwin Bailey, 38, no known address in Seaside, was given a criminal citation for second-degree theft after he left the store with a cooler, flashlight and other supplies without paying.

Suspicious circumstances/disturbances

Bicycle accident, 5:51 a.m. June 12, 200 block South Main Avenue. The bicycle rider and a child sitting on the handlebars were injured and taken to Columbia Memorial Hospital.

Elk hazing, 3:27 p.m. June 15, Robinson Community Park.

Trespassing, no time given, June 16, county-owned land at Southeast 19th Street and Alternate Highway 105. A 59-year-old Astoria man who’d set up camp on the property was trespassed.

Trespassing, 11:03 a.m. June 17, Southeast 19th Street and Highway 104. Marcus Le Journot, 28, no known address, was given criminal citations for trespassing and offensive littering.

Found bicycle, 8:34 a.m. June 18, 300 block Southwest Second Street.

Two-vehicle noninjury collision, 7:31 a.m. June 13, Highway 101 and Highway 104.

Hit and run, 11:25 a.m. June 13, Walmart. A suspect vehicle belonging to a Seaside couple was identified through surveillance footage. The female driver, contacted later at her home, agreed to cooperate and the victim decided against pursuing charges.

Vehicle into ditch, 12:28 p.m. June 13, Northwest Warrenton Drive near Northwest Ninth Street. The driver told officers she was swatting at a spider and when she looked up she was headed into the ditch. The 20-year-old Hammond woman was taken to Columbia Memorial Hospital for treatment of cuts.

Three-vehicle noninjury collision, 2 p.m. June 13, Youngs Bay Bridge. A 64-year-old Astoria woman told officers she was watching boats in the harbor and failed to see southbound traffic stopped in front of her. The traffic had stopped due to a truck that had lost its load at the other end of the bridge.

Traffic stop, 9:30 p.m. June 13, Ensign Lane at Southeast 19th Street. Driver cited for failing to carry proof of insurance.

Vehicle into parked tow truck, 6:54 a.m. June 14, 600 block Harbor Drive. No injuries, but 2002 Toyota Camry was towed from scene.

No seat belt, 11:17 a.m. June 14, Ensign Lane at Highway 101. Driver cited.

Failure to yield, 11:50 a.m. June 14, Highway 101 at Ensign Lane. Driver cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.

Traffic stop, 11:11 p.m. June 14, Ridge Road at the soccer fields. Desirai S. Schehl, 27, of Astoria was cited for criminal failure to carry and present a license and for driving while suspended and driving without insurance.

Speeding, 9:24 a.m. June 15, Ridge Road at the soccer fields. Driver cited for going 70 in a 45 mph zone.
