Margaret Santee, a registered nurse and 30-year employee at Columbia Memorial Hospital, has received a March of Dimes Nurse of the Year award.

It’s the fourth year in a row that a CMH nurse has received the distinction.

Santee, who received the 2018 Case Management, Occupational Health and Utilization Review Nurse of the Year award for Oregon and Southwest Washington, was recognized at an awards ceremony June 1 in Portland.

Her specific award is given to a nurse who reviews individual and workplace medical cases, ensuring the patients are getting the most appropriate care and level of support.

“Margaret’s continual commitment to the care of patients and families has brought her great success in the Care Management Department,” said Erik Thorsen, the hospital’s chief executive officer. “We can always count on her for amazing clinical expertise, caring and commitment to patients. She genuinely cares for all.”

Santee also is a 4-H volunteer and was named a 4-H Leader of the Year in 2012 for her contributions to the Clatsop County program.
