** Assaults

Assault, 3:56 p.m. July 28, bus stop in front of Fred Meyer. A 58-year-old Warrenton man reported he’d been struck in the face by a man wearing a black hat, red shirt and riding a bicycle. The assailant could not be located.

** Thefts/burglaries

Theft of recyclable cans, 3:30 a.m. July 21, Costco. Suzanne K. Snodgrass, 48, with no known address in Warrenton, was cited for criminal third-degree theft after she allegedly took $5 in recyclable cans.

Vehicle break-in, 10:23 a.m. July 24, 100 block Alternate Highway 101. Man reported his wallet was stolen from his unlocked pickup, which was parked in his driveway. A subsequent purchase was made using his debit card at the Portway Tavern in Astoria.

Stolen trailer, 6:29 p.m. July 24, 1000 block Southwest Main Court. The trailer was homemade, but a new electric car hoist covered with a tarp was sitting in the bed.

Stolen bicycle, 3:52 p.m. July 27, Fred Meyer. A man reported his $200 21-speed Schwinn was taken while he shopped.

** Suspicious circumstances/disturbances

Found puppy, 1 p.m. July 24, 1400 block Southeast 12th Place. Dog’s owner located a short time later.

Lost phone, 9:59 p.m. July 28, unspecified Warrenton location. Value of iPhone X estimated at $1,000.

Malicious mischief, 2:03 p.m. July 29, Fred Meyer parking lot. Owners of a motorhome who had been instructed to leave the premises dumped the vehicle’s sewage in the parking lot upon leaving.

Gunshots heard, 8:58 p.m. July 29, 200 block Southwest Second Street. An officer contacted a group of people having a birthday party and lighting off fireworks, bottle rockets and mortars. Illegal fireworks were confiscated.

Prohibited camping, 3:43 a.m. July 31, Fred Meyer parking lot. A man from Montrose, Colo., had been warned repeatedly at several locations that he couldn’t camp in his truck and trailer in business parking lots. He was cited this time for prohibited camping.

** Vehicles

Two-vehicle noninjury collision, 11:50 a.m. July 23, Youngs Bay Bridge.

Fender-bender, 4:02 p.m. July 23, Les Schwab parking lot.

Traffic stop, 10:50 p.m. July 24, Southeast Main Court at Southwest Third Street. Chance O. Searls, 19, of Astoria was cited for criminal failure to carry and present a license and cited for driving while suspended and driving without insurance.

Running a stoplight, 8:53 a.m. July 25, Highway 101 at Ensign Lane. Sara Nugent, 42, of Astoria was cited for criminal failure to carry a license and cited for failure to carry proof of insurance and failure to obey a traffic-control device.

Three-vehicle rear-end collision with one injury, 2:03 p.m. July 25, Highway 101 at Youngs Bay Bridge. A Ford van struck the back of Ford Focus stopped in traffic, pushing it into the back of a Ford Ranger pickup. One driver cited for following too closely. A second driver complained of pain, but declined treatment.

Two-vehicle noninjury collision, 5:15 p.m. July 26, Northwest Warrenton Drive at Seventh Avenue, Hammond. One driver cited for careless driving.

Car into parked sport-utility vehicle, 8 p.m. July 27, Harbor Drive at Galena Avenue. The driver told officers he was adjusting his stereo when he struck the parked car. He was cited for careless driving.

Suspicious vehicle, 11:45 p.m. July 27, unlit area near Costco fuel pumps. Vehicle was empty; plates and vehicle identification number didn’t match. An officer removed the plates from the vehicle and attempted to contact the vehicle’s owner in Astoria, who is on probation, and the plates’ owner in Seaside. Probation officer contacted.

Pickup towing trailer rear-ended a Subaru Outback, no injuries, 9:13 a.m. July 28, Highway 101 at Neptune.

Two-vehicle noninjury collision, 4:54 p.m. July 28, Highway 101 at Sunset Beach.

Two-vehicle noninjury collision, 4:56 p.m. July 28, South Main Avenue at Southwest Ninth Street. One driver cited for failing to yield the right of way.

Traffic stop, 6:08 a.m. July 29, Highway 101 at Harbor Drive. Driver cited for failing to install a court-required ignition interlock device.

Running a stoplight, 10:43 p.m. July 29, Ensign Lane at Walmart. Driver cited for failing to obey a traffic control device.

Failure to stop when exiting a driveway, 11:09 p.m. July 29, Harbor Drive at Anchor Avenue. Driver cited for failing to stop and driving while suspended.

Road rage report, 9:39 a.m. July 30, Alternate Highway 101 at Ensign Lane. Erratic driver in an older gold sedan attempted to block another driver and then threw a rock when a Warrenton woman attempted to pass. Erratic driver could not be located.

Traffic stop, 10:35 p.m. July 30, Ensign Lane at Highway 101. Camren S. Hudson, 24, of Republic, Wash., was given a citation for criminal probation violation.

Fire alarm, 12:38 p.m. July 24, 1600 block Ensign Lane.

Smoldering bark dust, 4:06 p.m. July 24, 1700 block Ensign Lane.

Fire alarm, 2:37 p.m. July 26, 91500 block McCarter Road, Camp Rilea.

Provide mutual aid for structure fire, 4:39 p.m. July 28, 2923 Grand Ave., Astoria.
