Clatsop Community College's 'Au Naturel' show seeks artists

Clatsop Community College has issued a call for artists to enter the 2019 “Au Naturel: The Nude in the 21st Century.”   The event is an international juried exhibition that opens Jan. 24 at the college’s Royal Nebeker Art Gallery. 

The competition is open to all artists from around the globe working in two-dimensional drawing, painting or printmaking with a focus on the nude human figure.

Entrants must be 18 or older and submitted artwork must have been executed in the last three years and available for the duration of the exhibit.

Applications must be received by Nov. 7.

Awards include $1,000 in cash and up to $2,000 in purchase awards.

The juror for the 2019 exhibit is Ashley Stull Meyers, a writer, editor and curator. She has curated exhibits and public programming for arts institutions along the West Coast, including San Francisco, Seattle and Portland. She has been in academic residency at the Bemis Center for Contemporary Art in Omaha, Neb., and the Banff Centre in Alberta, Canada.
