Warrenton agency named one of top 100 nonprofit groups

Thursday, November 8, 2018

Northwest Community Alliance, a nonprofit group supporting those with intellectual and developmental disabilities, was recognized by Oregon Business magazine as one of the 2018 100 Best Nonprofits to Work for in Oregon.

“It was like the Emmys and Oscars,” said Shantell Stevens, associate director. “No one knew who the top three were for each of the small, medium and large organizations, or where they were ranked and when they were announced, they were surprised and grateful and everyone in the audience cheered. It was such a positive event for everyone.”

The Warrenton-based business was the only nonprofit agency in Clatsop County to make the list. The 100 Best Nonprofits are determined by an anonymous employee survey and an independent assessment of the employers’ confidential survey of employment practices and benefits.

Northwest Community Alliance was started in 1974 by parents seeking to provide services for their disabled children.
