EMT named top firefighter

Brian Christopher Alsbury has been named 2018 Firefighter of the Year for the Warrenton Fire Department.

Alsbury is a lieutenant in the department and has served since 2007. Prior to that, he was a member of the Astoria Fire Department for seven years.

Alsbury is an emergency medical technician and is employed by the Warrenton Public Works Department. Besides responding to fire and medical emergencies, he fills in for Chief Tim Demers when he’s out of town.

Alsbury, a 1999 Astoria High School graduate, is married to Sarah Litwin and has four children, Sophie, Norah, Paxton and Teegan.

He’s working toward an associate’s degree in fire service from Clatsop Community College and is earning his advanced EMT certificate.

His parents are Lynn and Rose Alsbury. Lynn Alsbury served as fire chief in the Tongue Point Fire Department.
