School board appoints new member

Neal Bond
Thursday, February 7, 2019

Neal Bond, a member of the Oregon Department of Forestry’s protection unit, has been appointed to the Warrenton-Hammond School Board.

He’ll fill the Position 4 seat, which was left vacant when Stacey Brown resigned last year. The term expires June 30, 2021.

Bond was one of four applicants, although one later dropped out. The six other serving board members held interviews with the three remaining candidates on Jan. 23 and made the appointment that night.

The board wanted to make the appointment immediately, Superintendent Mark Jeffery said, so the newest board member can participate in property negotiations for the new middle school campus.
